CURIOUS FEET
Rose-colored carpets are a luxury for the feet blistered with souvenirs from journeys taken on hot days in August. Once as smooth as ocean stones, feet cushions are now rough and calloused, having scrambled over rocks, toes clutching. Hands investigated tidal pools, collecting hermit crabs that scuttled across palms. Sun didn’t suit the skin’s complexion, turning red and burnt.
The rose carpet is a pleasure, a gentle landing for curious feet.
